Next Steps & Expectations:
Our office will receive a referral from your doctor. We will then contact you and request your insurance information. We call your insurance company and confirm benefits, and we call you to go over the explanation of benefits so you understand what is covered through insurance. As soon as possible, we will set up an initial evaluation. Please come 30 minutes ahead of time to fill out the initial paperwork. When you come for your appointment, remember to bring copies of your ID and insurance card, an updated list of medications, and wear comfortable clothing.
Our first session will start with a Physical Therapy evaluation, which may include the following components, as indicated: postural assessment, palpation, arthrokinematic and myofacial mobility, strength, balance and gait training. At the assessment, we discuss problems and impression of problems, set goals, establish a plan of care, the frequency & duration of sessions, as well as what you will receive in your treatment plan. Within two weeks, you can expect restoration of soft tissue, alignment with joint mobilization up to a grade 3, an established stabilization program, and strength & endurance training. More acute cases may have different results.
